Cartagena is one of the oldest cities of the whole mediterranean coastline, so this tour is going to show you the highlights of this fascinating city.
It was founded with the name of Quart-Hadast, in the year 229 b. C. by Hasdrubal. It was just for a short period, as later came the Second Punic War and Romans dominated the city. Coming from that period is the oldest remain of the city, The Punic Wall, which really deserves a visit.
From there, we will go on to the top of Conception Hill, where the medieval castle is located and where we have the best views of the city and its harbour. To keep on discovering this 3000 years old city our next visit will be the fabulous Roman Theater, the most visited museum of our area.
Then, we will continue to admire the Art Noveau buildings located in downtown which are the result of mining at the outskirts of the city in the XIX Century and the prosperity brought by them.
