About this tour

Learn about Amsterdam's rich Jewish history by passing landmarks of the Jewish quarter. Feel the emotion and hope of Jewish families during the dark days of the war while hiding in the zoo and other parts of the city. And see where Anne Frank was hiding in Amsterdam city center.

Starting from the heart of the Jewish quarter I will take you to several famous Jewish places in the former Jewish quarter. We end at the Anne Frank House, if you don't have a ticket I can help you get a ticket to get inside the house and museum. Just contact me in time.

Our journey starts in the historic Jewish Quarter where in the 16th Century Jews from the Iberian peninsula fled to Amsterdam to avoid persecution. Together, we will explore the rest of the old Jewish Quarter. On our route, we pass:

- The Portuguese Synagogue
- The city's oldest park
- My favorite street in Amsterdam
- The Dutch theater - the last stop in Amsterdam for the Holocaust victims
- Monuments created by the community
- Stumbling stones reminding Jewish History.

You'll also discover several hidden gems along the canals, all the while telling stories that will make history feel within arm's reach. After a refreshing beer or cup of coffee in our favorite restaurant, we will take a tram to the city center.

After a short stroll we end at the Westerkerk, the building Anne could see from the loft's window. We will see the famous church before our final destination - the Anne Frank House.
