Visit one of the most famous natural phenomena, the monasteries of Meteora, situated on the steep "rocky forest" in Thessalia, central Greece to admire a landscape that will take your breath away. Visit this unique UNESCO site with your qualified guide, Efi, starting the tour from Thessaloniki or elsewhere.

The Meteora Monasteries, situated on the top of the steep outcroppings, built centuries ago by the hermits and monks who searched for isolation, offer us a breathtaking view. This unique geological phenomenon is a UNESCO heritage site, known also by a James Bond film.
We’ll visit two out of the six existing monasteries to see the byzantine frescoes, the religious treasures in their museum and to take some of the most unforgettable photos you’ll ever see.
After a lunch break in the town of Kalambaka, we’ll start our drive back to Thessaloniki.
This experience includes a privately guided tour in two monasteries (transportation costs and entrance fees not included). Which ones will they be?
It depends on the day of the week, as the monasteries are not all open every day or all day long.
The tour may be done shorter with no lunch free time at all, if your cruise ship is leaving Thessaloniki port early.
Private transportation with a professional driver and licensed vehicle is not included.

A note from your guide
The monasteries to be visited depends on the day of the week, as the monasteries are not all open every day or all day long.
Orthodox Monasteries dress code: Ladies must wear a long skirt or a long dress and Gents must wear long trousers. Everybody must have their shoulders covered.
Comfortable shoes are needed for the climbing of the steps.
Photography is not allowed inside the monastery churches or museums.
