About this tour...
We will start by the port doing a sightseeing tour and stopping at the City of the Arts And Sciences. I will explain you all the buildings of the CAC, symbol of the 21st- century Valencia (this will take approx. 20 min.)
The city of the Arts and Sciences is an avant-garde construction, a magnificent new architecture with designs by Santiago Calatrava. It is a space for leisure activities where culture and scientific activities take the leading role, somewhere to learn and have fun at the same time, that bases its activities on three major themes: Art, Science and Nature, three pillars of human knowledge at the service of all.
We will continue with the sightseeing tour till arriving to the old town, once there, we will make the walking tour to see: the CATHEDRAL, located on the site of a roman temple, which later became a moresque mosque, and its origin goes back to the 13th century. BASILICA OF OUR LADY OF THE FORSAKEN, dedicated to the city's patron saint, it is a major place of worship. VIRGIN SQUARE foundation of the city and its history, Water Court, Valencia Regional Government - Palace of the Generalitat, etc..
Lonja –Merchants Warehouse or ancient Silk Exchange- (declared world heritage monument in 1996 by UNESCO and one of the most famous examples of Gothic civil architecture that Europe can offer).
CENTRAL MARKET (modernist style building and one of the largest markets in Europe covering a surface of over 8000m2).
ROUND SQUARE, picturesque square constructed in XIX century.
By the Serranos Gate (dating back to the XIV century and one of the most important gate that had the Christian wall), we will come back to the port continuing the sightseeing tour till arriving to the ship.
