Villa Carlotta is an historical residence built in the 17th century and surrounded by eight hectars of park placed on different terraces descending to the lake. The major part of the park is of the landscape type typical of the English style with 800 varieties of exotic trees and flowers, among wich 150 varieties of azaleas. The interior of the villa is open to the public; on the noble floor there is an extremely interesting collection of sculptures and paintings from the neoclassical and romantic period.
After the visit we get on a comfortable private boat that, costing the shore of the lake will pass in front of Tremezzo and the villas that follow each other along the lake. After Lenno the boat will coast the peninsula of Lavedo on the point of which stands the famous Villa Balbianello. Close by we will see an other villa of extraordinary beauty: Villa Cassinella . We reach then Ossuccio and the Comacina Island before to go back to Tremezzo.
