About this tour

In this private walking tour, we explore the rich cultural and religious heritage of this unique city, which has tiny or bigger churches hidden almost everywhere.
Many of them are decorated with mosaics and frescoes still preserved dating back from the 4th to the 14th century.
Starting with a drive by taxi (not included) from the top of the hill with the Byzantine time Acropolis and along the city walls, we continue on foot downhills to the city center and en route we stop and visit various Byzantine churches, like Vlatadon Monastery, Osios David, St. Dimitrios and St. Sophia, ending to the unique Roman period Rotonda (entrance fee not included), all of them UNESCO monuments.

This tour includes much walking, partly on some steep surface.
It depends on the day of the week, which monuments are open and can be visited. On Tuesdays some of the UNESCO monuments are closed.
