About this tour

This classic old town tour will allow you to get acquainted with the most important sights of Old Riga, to learn about the lifestyle and daily life of the inhabitants of the medieval city.
You will see the Gothic churches: Riga's Dome, St. Peter's Church, St. James Catholic Cathedral, cobbled alleys and the dwelling houses of medieval rigeans resembling gingerbread houses.
You will get to know the historical figures, who wrote the history of the city and the Baltic region. They are Bishop Albert, Peter the Great, Catherine the Great... During our walk we will see the "Three Brothers" complex, the Presidential Palace, the Swedish Gate, the Powder Tower. Our walk will be an immersion in the medieval atmosphere, which will allow us to understand the culture and ancient customs. During the excursion you will learn about the history of the famous magic drink "Riga Balsam" with the possibility to taste it.
Even though the excursion is rich in historical facts, it will pass in a light, positive and friendly atmosphere. It will be interesting not only for adults, but for children as well.
