About this tour

During this tour you can learn about the legend of the Black Virgin and enjoy a performance by the “La Escolanía”, which is the oldest children’s choir in Europe (if available). You can do some walking on your own, shop for local cheese & jam, or just take in the amazing views for a little longer.

Also, at Montserrat, there is a self-help cafeteria style restaurant and you can buy anything you prefer among the local products. I would not say this is gourmet style dining by any means but a place to have lunch on the go as we are mainly interested in providing sights during this day and there is a lot to cover :-)

Lastly, we drive to the wine-country to visit one of the famous Cava makers in Barcelona to see how our famous wine is made!

Note from your guide

Please wear comfortable shoes for walking since there will be lots of walking involved during your visit at Montserrat.

Most guests find this as kid-friendly since the tour includes a drive up the mountain and the views are spectacular for both kids and older participants. There is usually activities for kids during the winery visit (although they are not advised to taste a sample of the wine but subject to parents’ discretion).

The tour usually includes lots of walking but there are locations in Montserrat that are friendly to people with mobility difficulties. Our vehicles are not wheelchair accessible and we don't know any other company in Spain that has such vehicles. This means that all our guests must be able to physically get into the vehicle by themselves (or accompanied by someone who can help them), and any wheelchairs need to be able to fold into the luggage area of the vehicle. If you also have any difficulties getting into a specific type of vehicle (for example a van) please let us know so we can have all the information in advance and ensure we use the relevant vehicle.

We use the appropriate vehicle depending on the size of the group. We normally use Europe's best (Mercedes-type vehicles or BMW or something similar).
