This full-day guided experience is a must-see attraction when travelling in the Steps of St. Paul.
Philippi site is included in the UNESCO World Heritage list and excavations are still going on in this vast site. The ancient theatre of Philippi is used in summertime for the summer Philippi festival plays and concerts today.
Philippi Archaeological Site, private guided visit for 1 hour 30 minutes to see the ancient theatre, the early-Christian churches, the Roman Forum and the prison of St. Paul. Then we drive to Saint Lydia's Baptistery, visit the chapel and take photos on the banks of the stream Angitis, where St. Paul baptised Lydia and the very first Christians in Europe.
The old harbour of Kavala (biblical ancient Neapolis), perfect spot for a lunch break, is famous for its seafood tavernas.
Visit the Monument of St. Paul in Kavala, where he landed by boat together with Syllas, Timothy and Luke to start preaching during his second mission.
