Depart port and head out to the Golden circle route, the most popular and the must do route for first-time visitors!!! Highlights include the Golden waterfall which is about 32 meters high and quite wide, Strokkur spouting spring which erupts every 3 to 8 minutes, and Thingvellir national park the site of the ancient Viking-Age parliament and the rift between two continents, i.e. American and the Europe/Asia continents. Travel with a friendly and competent local professional driver/guide who will tell you everything you want to know about Iceland's geology, history, daily-life and other things.

A note from your guide
The Golden circle route is the best to do in Iceland if you're here for just one day. You don't have to think about it twice. Take if from me as a professional driver/guide since 1988. The tour lasts only 6.5 hours but you'll see so much and learn so much about everything Icelandic along the way. If you have more time/days in port you may want to do the South coast route 10 hours, Borgarfjordur valley 8 hours, Snaefellsnes peninsula 10 hours, or the Reykjanes peninsula and Blue lagoon in 4-6 hours. A city tour of Reykjavik normally lasts about 2-3 hours. I hope you book this tour with me.
